On March 16, the executive of BFC will vote to approve a consultation on a revised version of the Bracknell Forest Local Plan. This sets out the sites for new development up to 2037. The previous version proposed 4000 homes on green belt land at Jealotts hill. There was strong opposition to this so it has been scaled back to 2,000 homes, which means BFC have had to find alternative locations for 2,000 homes. At first glance, from the Crowthorne point of view, this new plan doesn’t look significantly different to the previous one published in 2018. It still includes;

  • 217 homes at Derby Field, the playing field by the station.
  • An extension of Great Hollands to include 226 homes at Beaufort Park, with access from Nine mile Ride.

It’s 400 pages so will take some time to digest. The consultation will run from 23 March to May 11. The document is too large to upload here but can be downloaded from the BFC website.
