OUR CONCERNS
Redevelopment in the
High Street is taking Crowthorne away from a village atmosphere towards a
more urban feel. Just look at Bracknell
Town Centre to get an
idea of what it could like. For these reasons, we need to keep vigilant
about future planning applications
Do you realise the
number of apartments built, under construction or planned are over 300.
With the effects of the Monetary Crisis hitting all building project a
large number of these are either empty or standing half competed!
Our sylvan Village! We have joining in with Wokingham District Veteran
Tree Association and the Woodland Trust in compiling a list of all the
veteran and notable trees in and around the village so that they can be
protected and put on a national register
Parking/Public
Transport. We are concerned at the loss of public parking spaces and the poor
public transport system.
School places. Bringing high-density development into our community is bound to
have an adverse impact on parents being able to get their children into the
school of their choice, at any age.
Doctors. Although we have had 2
surgeries for some years now, there is still a considerable waiting period
to get to see a doctor, imagine how continuous high-density development
will impact on an already stretched service, not to mention the parking at
those surgeries!
Disturbances/Police. There are a
number of areas in the village that have trouble with youths, recently a
new Neighbourhood Action Group has been formed in Crowthorne to handle
liaison with the police and local authorities a propos these matters.(click here for more details))
