CVAG protecting our village against urbanisation

Bracknell Forest Council have voted to approve the proposed housing allocations and move on to the next stage of consultation.

This is only concerned with the soundness of the process.

We were stunned when the two elected representatives of Crowthorne, Cllrs Wade and Finnie, both spoke and voted in favour of the motion. We have written to both Cllrs Wade and Finnie expressing our disgust.

However the plan before council was for a much larger scale development and will involve the loss of an estimated 20,000 trees. CVAG have asked the council to prepare an alternative of a scaled down plan that would involve building on just the brownfield element, but the council have refused to do this.

The   second issue was that the proposed plans were going to be contrary to the   councils publicly stated priorities, which were;


To keep our parks, open spaces and leisure facilities accessible and attractive

To promote sustainable housing and infrastructure development

So,   at the same meeting they slipped through an un-debated motion that these   should no longer be the priorities, replacing them   with;

Plans have been submitted for a 4 storey nursing home on Sandhurst Road. This does seem inappropriately large for that location and local residents have concerns about the extra traffic that would be generated.
