 “Application deliberately deceptive”

A recent application for a four storey building in Crowthorne high Street is deliberately deceptive.

Said CVAG spokesperson Andy Holley  “ The applicants know that a four storey building in that location would be unsightly so they describe it as 3 storeys with additional floor in the roof , when it is quite plain to everyone that it is four storey building.”

They also show access to the car park as being from a road at the back  when no such road exists and is not even planned.

They don’t even know which way round the building is proposed as the east and west elevations appear to be incorrectly labelled on the submitted plans.

Said Andy Holley

“It’s about time the councils started refusing to consider poorly prepared applications which do not correctly represent the reality of the proposal.”

The size of the proposed building is much larger than the existing two storey shops on that site, being both taller and further forward. The pavement is  widened  at that spot to allow room for pedestrians waiting to  cross the crossing, not for developers to push forward the building line.

The existing shops provide customer parking at the rear, whilst the new application provides no parking for customers and no parking for visitors to the proposed apartments. Where do they think visitors would park ?
